Preparing for Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton may become a category 5 storm when it makes landfall on Wednesday on the West Coast of Florida. Palm Beach County will most likely be affected with heavy rain and winds.
Please do a thorough inspection of your property and take appropriate steps to safeguard it.
Here are a few suggestions:
- Bring the outdoor furniture and plants inside from the catwalk / open balcony / end-cap areas.
- Make use of your hurricane shutters – if you have them.
- Please remember, if you have open balconies and do not have hurricane shutters, they must be cleared of any items.
- Fuel up vehicles and charge cell phones / electronics.
- Double check supplies of food, water, cash, and medications.
- A storm “watch” means that storm conditions are possible for the area and is issued 48 hours in advance of the anticipated onset of storm forced winds in an area.
- A storm “warning” means that storm conditions are expected for the area.
We encourage everyone to tune into local news stations for storm updates. Take instruction from the Emergency Management Authorities, not neighbors and friends. Please keep in mind, we are in evacuation Zone C.
